5 ., The third volume of the series Perspectives on Philosophy: Contemporary and Historical Readings with Philosophical Enquiries is a collection of philosophical articles written by members of the series. This is the first volume in the series to be translated into Romanian (together with the first two volumes) and the first volume to be translated into English. Philosophical Enquiries is a new series of philosophical studies which began publishing in 2009. This new series seeks to bring philosophy to a wider audience, by means of publishing translated work which is important to contemporary philosophy. The Romanian translation of the third volume of the series will be a reflection of the Romanian philosophical tradition. The series was edited by Paul Ricoeur in Paris. It will eventually include all three volumes, translated into Romanian and translated into English. Volume III, Perspectives on Philosophy: Contemporary and Historical Readings with Philosophical Enquiries, is the first of the volumes in the series. The volume was published in 2008 by Humanitas. It was edited by Paul Ricoeur and Renata Botez. The Romanian version was edited by Paul Ricoeur, and the English version was edited by Stephen White and Nicola Vermeulen. Volume III is dedicated to the conception of philosophy in the 20th century. It includes articles written by some of the most important philosophers in 20th century philosophy. To a greater extent than the previous volumes, the articles are organized according to a chronological order. The first part of the volume includes two articles on Heidegger's conception of philosophy. The second part of the volume includes articles on Ricoeur, Habermas, Foucault, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, and Levinas. The third part of the volume includes articles on anarchism, pragmatism, existentialism, and contemporary philosophy. One of the most interesting and challenging articles in this volume is "Pragmatism and a Pseudo-Pragmatism". This article was written by Paul Ricoeur and is a response to an article by Anthony Kenny in the Journal of Philosophy, a journal dedicated to contemporary philosophy. In this article, Kenny argues that the view that Wittgenstein's philosophy is "pseudo-pragmatic" is not well founded. Ricoeur argues that Kenny did not examine adequately the conception of "pseudo-pragmatism" in order to determine whether it was consistent with pragmatism.
